The Senior CSA Technician is specialized work in the sales maintenance, operation and installation of the Conyers Security Alert security systems. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Security Alert/Facilities Manager. Work requires independent judgment and initiative. Work may include assisting with building maintenance duties as needed.

- Recommends equipment installation plan in conjunction with the Security/Facilities Alert Manager.
- Installs new security systems including access control, and CCTV systems.
- Repairs, adjusts, aligns and calibrates the electronic security systems marketed by the City of Conyers.
- Selects and utilizes proper test equipment in order to interpret malfunctioning circuits and components of the systems.
- Reads and interprets schematics and technical manuals when repairing security systems.
- Instructs customers on proper use and care of their security systems.
- Supervises employees in the absence of the security Alert/Facilities Manager.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school.
Licenses(s): Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Experience: One (1) or more years’ experience in electrical installation and repair. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, or the ability to complete a networking fundamentals course within 6 months of employment.
Any Special Requirement: Possession of a low voltage alarm license, or the ability to obtain license within 12 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office environment (copier, telephone, fax, etc.)
- Thorough knowledge of the use and care of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skill in replacing and/or upgrading a variety of security systems.
- Skill in the installation, operation, and maintenance of security systems.
- Ability to gain knowledge of a variety of security systems, including older panels.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to be flexible in the scheduling of service and installation of security systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to tolerate environments containing dust, dirt and extreme heat.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to drive a standard equipped vehicle.
- Ability to install and/or service access control systems.
- Ability to quote, plan, install and/or service CCTV and related equipment.
