, ,Job Summary
The Custodian is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the City Hall building. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring that all areas of the building are sanitary and presentable. Work is performed under general supervision from Head Custodian.

- Perform routine housekeeping services as assigned, which normally include emptying trash receptacles, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, spot cleaning and disinfecting restrooms.
- Inspect facility to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained, addressing any issues promptly.
- Manage inventory and cleaning supplies.
- Respond to staff requests/concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all chemicals and hazardous materials used in the facility are properly controlled, issued and accounted for in accordance with all safety and national standards.
- Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of common areas such as breakrooms, bathrooms, conference rooms, training room and lobby.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with coworkers, citizens and staff.
- Providing excellent service to enhance user satisfaction and facility reputation.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school. Preferred but not required.
Licenses(s): Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Experience: One (1) or more years' experience in general maintenance, cleaning; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge of:
- General safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of appropriate cleaning techniques for different surfaces and materials.
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Skill and Abilities:
- Ability to manage and organize time to complete necessary tasks and complete duties in a timely fashion.
- Ability to be detail-oriented.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to stand, walk and bend for an extended period of time.

The employee must occasionally be able to climb ladders and withstand heights.
